چکیده

Different image pairs of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) from tandem satellites (i.e. ERS2 and EnviSat) sunglint optical images Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), Visible Infrared Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Medium Spectrometer (MERIS) between December 2002 May 2016 are investigated used to estimate the propagation speed Internal Solitary Waves (ISWs) in Andaman Sea. 426 ISWs identified during this period found be concentrated four regions Sea namely, (a) southeastern region near Sumatra, (b) central eastern region, (c) around Nicobar Islands, (d) northern region. However, phase ISWs, 11 suitable, which captured 24 ISWs. Two methods, (i) Multiple Images Comparison (MIC), (ii) Tidal Time Period (TTP) The estimated speeds well agreed with theoretical results derived Sturm–Liouville equation using monthly climatology stratification data local bathymetry. A maximum 3.02 m/s was at 3740 m depth western side Islands minimum 0.83 100 It is that ISW decreases as they propagate deep shallow water. From analysis variation speed, we higher January than March Sea, attributed environmental parameters such mixed layer (MLD), thermocline depth, etc. over water play a vital role controlling

Oblique nonlinear interaction of internal solitary-like waves in the Andaman Sea

Oblique nonlinear interaction of two incident solitary waves, or soliton resonance, is important because it can produce a third solitary wave that has an amplitude up to 4 times the incident wave amplitude. Although this process is well studied for surface waves and in other fields of physics such as plasma, it has not been well studied for internal solitary-like waves (ISWs) in the ocean. In t...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

An extreme internal solitary wave event observed in the northern South China Sea

With characteristics of large amplitude and strong current, internal solitary wave (ISW) is a major hazard to marine engineering and submarine navigation; it also has significant impacts on marine ecosystems and fishery activity. Among the world oceans, ISWs are particular active in the northern South China Sea (SCS). In this spirit, the SCS Internal Wave Experiment has been conducted since Mar...

Internal solitary waves: propagation, deformation and disintegration

Abstract In coastal seas and straits, the interaction of barotropic tidal currents with the continental shelf, seamounts or sills is often observed to generate large-amplitude, horizontally propagating internal solitary waves. Typically these waves occur in regions of variable bottom topography, with the consequence that they are often modeled by nonlinear evolution equations of the Korteweg-de...

Seismic Wave-Field Propagation Modelling using the Euler Method

Wave-field extrapolation based on solving the wave equation is an important step in seismic modeling and needs a high level of accuracy. It has been implemented through a various numerical methods such as finite difference method as the most popular and conventional one. Moreover, the main drawbacks of the finite difference method are the low level of accuracy and the numerical dispersion for l...
